Work begins on 40 new affordable homes in Narborough, North Norfolk
A turf cutting ceremony marked the official start of works on Chalk Lane; a 40-home development by Flagship Homes, Burmor Construction, and LoCal Homes in Narborough, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
Oleg Barsoukov, Project Manager at Flagship Homes, was joined by Luke Boekestyn, Director for Burmor Construction, and Mike Doolan, Sales and Partnership Manager for LoCal Homes at the new site to celebrate launching this brand-new affordable housing development.
Oleg Barsoukov, Flagship Homes Project Manager, said: “Working with Burmor to help deliver these new homes to Narborough is something we’re really happy with. It’s exciting to be using Modern Methods of Construction to create homes that are more comfortable and efficient from the outset.
This is another step forward towards fulfilling our vision of solving the housing crisis, and we look forward to working closely with Burmor and LoCal to deliver quality affordable homes that people will be proud of.”
Burmor Construction is building 40 new properties on behalf of Flagship Homes and the site will be a mix of Affordable Rent and Shared Ownership properties. The development, which will utilise Modern Methods of Construction, is also backed by funding from Homes England.
Luke Boekestyn, Director at Burmor Construction, said: “We are delighted to be working alongside Flagship and LoCal to provide 40 new affordable homes in Narborough.
We will be developing this site using our tried and tested Modern Methods of Construction, bringing factory standards of quality, insulation, and airtightness in order to provide homes which will be warm, comfortable and efficient to run for residents.”
The eco timber frame homes will ensure genuine affordability, and the development will widen the local community’s range of housing options, with 2, 3, and 4-bedroom houses available.
Mike Doolan, Sales & Partnership Manager at LoCaL Homes said: “It was great to join both Flagship Group and Burmor Construction on site at Chalk Lane.
“LoCaL Homes is looking forward to manufacturing and delivering the Eco-100 timber frame system as part of this development. With factory fitted insulation made from recycled materials, Flagship Homes will benefit from a much faster build onsite.”
The new affordable homes are expected to be completed winter 2024.
